We've been trying to get the developers to design the streets so that as many blocks as possible are most energy efficient. Click here for more info about energy efficient house design.
But as you can see by this picture, the MasterPlan has most of the blocks running north-south, so there are fewer east-west houses (an east-west house can expose more living area to the sun in winter, whilst shaded in summer.)
Solar Dwellings can really help you with this. -Show them your designs, and they'll show you what to do better. It will save you more later, and may cost you no more now!

- We've hammered the Developers to change that Masterplan, and to make caveats requiring energy-efficient design. To little avail.
- Also we are trying to make sure buyers get the info they need to design energy-efficient houses, no matter which way their block is oriented.
